These days, anyone can call themselves a “doula.” They hold 2-day training classes and slap together a certificate and push these women out into the birth space, so finding a doula who is truly passionate, present, and genuine feels almost impossible and when you figure out, they do not know what they are doing it is too late, and your experiences holds sadness, confusion, and anger. This can often times lead to baby blues and contribute to postpartum depression. The birth world has become noisy, rushed, and honestly corrupted. Too many people are just looking to make quick money, treating mothers like a job to get done instead of a sacred journey to honor.

I’ve been walking alongside mothers for over 15 years, and I’ve seen how far the industry has drifted from what women really need. This isn’t something you can ever redo or get back. How you are seen, held, and supported in this moment stays with you forever. Even when the pain of birth leaves your memory because it will, your village your support system and what transpired during your labor will always remain. I can remember my Birth nurse like it was yesterday. 

I do not call myself a “doula” because I do not believe in what the industry stands for instead, I think of myself as a healer, a mother, a friend, and a sister. Each women needs something different when it comes time to deliver their baby.

I believe your body already knows what to do. Birth was never meant to be rushed or forced by someone else’s timeline. Your baby knows when to come. You deserve to feel safe, unhurried, and deeply supported through every wave, every pause, every breath.

I trust your body. I trust your baby.
I hold space for the way birth was always meant to be sacred, primal, and yours.
